The Kimbanguists, whose church is based on the healing and proclamation ministry of Simon Kimbangu in 1921 Belgian Congo, challenge colonially defined borders identities multiple ways. Kimbanguists draw from holistic Kongo traditions, where spiritual material/political are inherently interwoven.
